Our History
Robyn, the founder of The Florida Insurance Lady, Inc, began her journey in the insurance industry in 1984, at a time when men predominantly held positions of authority. In those days, there were only a few women who had broken through the glass ceiling and achieved success in the industry.
After graduating from The Ohio State University, Robyn was recruited by John Alden Life Insurance Company. She started her career in their Marketing and Sales center located in Dublin, Ohio. Driven by her competitive spirit, Robyn quickly established herself as a top small group health insurance representative, consistently surpassing targets and winning company trips and awards.
Robyn’s dedication and remarkable performance led to the expansion of John Alden Life Insurance Company’s business in various states, including Ohio, Massachusetts, Georgia, and Florida.
However, her fondest memories were formed during her years in managed healthcare at Neighborhood Health Partnership, a subsidiary of United Healthcare. Serving as an assistant sales manager, Robyn was part of the top sales and marketing team in the entire United States.
With unparalleled experience and expertise, Robyn made a pivotal decision at the age of 47. She chose to step away from the fast-paced corporate environment and co-own an independent insurance agency called The Polanco Group, Inc. It was during this time that The Florida Insurance Lady, Inc was born out of the necessity to cater to clients who were transitioning into Medicare.
Robyn takes immense pride in her choice to shift her focus solely towards serving the senior population and providing Medicare products. By leaving behind the group health and life insurance industry, she has dedicated herself to ensuring that her clients receive the specialized care and attention they deserve during this important phase of their lives.
